General Questions

Why are there only so limited amount of fonts?

Fonts are curated and uploaded on a bi-weekly basis. As this is run by a 1-man team, things will move slower than usual.

Why can't I try the fonts on Typelingual?

We do not hold any licenses to the fonts or font files. Hence, we are not able to list them on our site or use them in any manner. However, we will definitely build that capacity in the future if we manage to secure a partnership.

Can you show some examples of the fonts in use?

Definitely. We will try to gather some examples of where the font have been used. This will be beneficial for everyone in the community. If you have any font in use images, please submit them to typelingual@gmail.com. Thank you!

How often will this site be updated?

This site will be updated periodically depending on the availability of Zhiliang. As this is a 1-man team and a side project of his, he will allocate time accordingly to best run this website.

I don't understand the language written on the original font site but I would like to purchase them. Can you help me?

Yes, you can approach or drop us an email at typelingual@gmail.com for help. The potential roadmap will include a "How-To-Purchase" guide for all listed foundries.

Font Licenses

What are the different type of font licenses?

There are generally 4 types of classifications for all the fonts.

Commercial — Purchase from font foundry and use them in your commercial works. Pricing varies depending on each foundry.
Free — These are fonts that are free for commercial and personal usage.
Free for Personal — Fonts that are available to download for free. You should only use them in personal projects and not earn any profit from it.
Trial — Fonts that you can try for a period of time or with limited characters. They should not be use for commercial project.

Can I trial the fonts before purchasing?

Yes. You can go to the link under each font to try out the fonts. Font foundries often have a section for you to test out all characters before you purchase. Some foundries also offer trial fonts that you can download to test it out.

Why can't I purchase the fonts directly from your site?

We do not hold any retailing license from any of the foundries. Hence, we are not able to sell them on our site nor allow downloads. We welcome font foundries or designers to discuss potential partnership with us if you are keen to!

Listing of Fonts

I have a font that I would like to be listed here. How can I do it?

That's great! We welcome any new fonts that we can list. Submit the font here and we will get it up in due time!

I do not want to list my fonts on your site. How can I remove it?

In the case where you would like to have the font remove, please drop us an email to typelingual@gmail.com. We will be in contact with you asap.
